Parution / Transformative Participation for Socio-Ecological Sustainability – Around the CoOPLAGE pathways
The book is centred on the CoOPLAGE approach developed over the last twenty years by our collective. CoOPLAGE stands for “Coupling Open and Participatory Tools to Let Actors Adapt for Environmental Management”. The book is intended for researchers and practitioners wishing to implement participatory processes. It presents various participatory approaches for supporting stakeholders in the co-construction of solutions and policies adapted to current socio-ecological challenges: role-playing games, participatory planning, co-engineering of participatory processes, observatories, monitoring and evaluation, etc. It also addresses key issues related to participation, such as the training of facilitators, the development of a culture of participation, social acceptability, digital participation, etc. The book is co-authored by 79 authors and is packed with examples from a variety of fields (agriculture, diffuse pollution, flooding, regional planning, sanitation, ecosystem services, etc.) and countries (France, Cambodia, Brazil, Senegal, Tunisia, Uganda, New Caledonia, etc.).
